August 30, 2014 Insane Wine Infused Ramblings "The Hobbit"

    With great anticipation I await the showing of "The Hobbit - The Desolation of Smaug". I hate going to the movies, so I wait until shows come to TV. That's what I'm doing tonight.

    Pet info. There are certain things that dogs just can't eat. Chocolate is one of them. The darker the worse it is. No grapes, or raisins either. Onions are another food you should not give them.

             I think this cat will watch TV with me tonight!

    I would really like to have a blog discussion about "Leftovers", but I don't have any clue about the show. And I've been watching from the beginning. 

    It's got to be the strangest series I've ever seen. What's actually going on? I don't do "who done its", for the reason that I can never figure it out. A good mystery is a mystery to me right up till the end. 

    Crazy deer running loose? Killer dogs? People that stop speaking? What does all this have to do with 2% of the population disappearing from the planet? Anybody? Anybody?

    Tonight is the first episode of Dr. Who. A new beginning. Another Doctor to get used to. I don't know about anyone else, but I have a hard time with that. But eventually I will.

Pet info. Dog baths. Believe it or not you can give it to them once a week, just make sure to give an omega 3 and 6!

August 22, 2014 Insane Wine Infused Ramblings "The God Particle and Aliens?"

         Ah, Ancient Aliens... Tonight, it's the "God" particle.

    So, the Large Hadron Collider smashes protons and ions together and creates the Higgs Boson. they say it explains why some fundamental particles have mass when the symmetries controlling their interactions should require them to be massless. And why the weak force (radioactive gravitons) has a much shorter range than the electromagnetic force (glueons).

    Anyway, they don't tie it all in. I'm still waiting for the alien connection. We're all made of star stuff. Yep, I get that. The God particle might lead us to different universes. Well... Let's get on that!

    Pet info. Ringworm. Not nice. Easy to spot once it gets to be the size of a dime. YOU MUST TREAT THIS RIGHT AWAY! I can't stress that enough. Go out and get anything that works on foot fungus. Use it. Wash EVERYTHING. It might take 2 weeks to heal. Just remember to proactive. It spreads swiftly. People can get it from their pets. WASH, WASH, WASH!

    Pet info. If your dogs are too much to handle, take them for a long DAILY walk. It will tire them out and give them something to look forward to. Routine is very important in a dogs life, and walking with you teaches them how to listen to a leader.

             That's not really the correct way to do that! LOL

    Pet info. I see a lot of dogs. Today I saw a poor tiny Yorkie who had a crushed trachea. The sound he made just to take a breath made me sad. Always remember to be gentle with a dog and their collar. It's easy to crush the delicate piece of cartilage. Use a harness or a collar that isn't solid, yet has separate links. Not a choke chain.

    August is my favorite time of year. I like the heat and the sun. Most people come out to the Hamptons to enjoy the beach. I don't need the beach.

    Pools work for me. This is my old pool. I have this one now.

              This is what it looks like with the newer liner.

    Pet info. If you have 2 dogs, chances are they compete against each other. Does one dog eat dinner and all treats before the other? If you feed them separately you'll find they will have a more relaxed feeding time.
