Pet info. Every night I feed my dogs, then give them an after dinner snack, while I make my own dinner. By the time I'm ready to sit down and put a few forkfuls in my mouth, my bigger Min Pin is finished and standing by the door. He wants to go out.
Now, this happens every night! Tonight, I tried to get him to go out after he finished eating. No go. I said, "OK, but I'm NOT letting you out when you're done with your snack."
He understood, and let me eat. BUT -- my smaller dog finally finished her snack, then went to stand by the door.
REALLY?
She's never done that before. Anybody want a dog or two? LOL
I make it through every day with only the normal aches and pains of someone whose been alive for more than 20 years. I haven't even had a cold since 2006, so if I have to leave work, I'm truly a mess.
Needless to say, that's what I looked like today. Hope tomorrow is better.
Pet info. Weather extremes wipe out your pets.Whether it's cold or hot, they should never spend any length of time outdoors. Make sure they can get inside when the temps plummet, or soar. They'll thank you for your care!

Pet info. During the holidays, it's always a good idea to get something that will keep your pets busy while entertaining guests. A large influx of new faces can intimidate a dog or a cat. Make sure they have a quiet place to go away from all the new noises if they become overwhelmed.

Pet info. While most dog foods are prepared to meet a high standard, dogs and cats have only been eating dry food since WWII. The war machine needed the tin so none could be spared for canning pet food. So when people look at me sideways when I suggest raw food, it cracks me up. It's only been about 80 years or so that we've had dry food!

Pet info. Small dogs love blankets. Mine burrow under theirs every night. It goes back to their denning instinct. It's why they grow to love their crate as well.
I love my day off. It gives me a tiny window to do something I want to do for myself. As the weather gets warmer, I like to spend a few hours out in the sun. I did so today, only to find that now I'm not seeing so well. Too much sun? Maybe...
Is there a problem with seeing double? I think so, especially if you need to do some writing and editing!
Pet info. When pets spend time in the sun with you, make sure they have ample fresh, cool water to drink. Plus a place to get out of the sun. I made shade for my dogs today, but neither would lay in the shade. They both chose to lay in the hot sun instead of the shade I made for them. As long as I had my trusty squirt bottle, all was well!

There has been a lot of talk about the lawsuit Nestle Purina brought against Blue Buffalo. My take on this is hopefully Purina is so pissed that Blue is taking a chunk out of their sales and bashing them in the food comparison. Purina has so much money, fighting against them in a suit would take so much of Blue's money they would count of them giving up.
We've seen this done before. Merial the makers of Frontline, sued Sentry's flea and tick spot on, Fiproguard. They brought a suit against the smaller company forcing them to stop the sale of their spot on because it was cheaper than Frontline. But that's how things are done here in America. If your money buys you power, then use it.
Pet info. Even with all the fighting within the industry, check your pet food ingredients. I can't stress enough you don't want to see corn, wheat, soy, or by-products in anything you give them. My boss likes to say:
A company can say their food is healthy, but who's checking? Good question. You should be.
